Community Guidelines

Last updated · 6 July 2026

GATE is a members club for people in transit. These Guidelines keep it a place where people feel safe to connect. They apply to everyone, everywhere on GATE, and to everything you share — your photos, prompts, messages, and profile. They also apply to how you treat other members away from the app, including in person. Breaking them can lead to content removal, suspension, or a permanent ban. By using GATE you agree to follow them, and they form part of our Terms & Conditions.

Our zero-tolerance stance

We have zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive members. Content or behaviour that violates the rules below may be removed immediately and the account suspended or banned without warning. We act on reports of objectionable content within 24 hours.

Be a real person

Respect & how we treat each other

GATE only works when people feel respected. Treat every member with dignity.

Prohibited content & behaviour

The following are not allowed anywhere on GATE:

Conduct at the gate

GATE connects people who are physically in the same airport, so a few things matter here that don't apply to other apps:

How we enforce this

Dating safely

Meeting people in transit can be spontaneous. A few habits keep it safe:

How to report

Tap the ⋯ menu on any profile and choose Report, or block the member directly. For urgent safety concerns you can also email us at gatetheapp@gmail.com. In an emergency, contact local authorities and airport security first. Please only report genuine concerns — knowingly false reports are themselves a violation of these Guidelines.

Consequences

Depending on severity, violations may result in a warning, content removal, temporary suspension, or a permanent ban. Serious violations — especially anything involving minors — result in an immediate permanent ban and, where required, a report to law enforcement and NCMEC.

Appeals

If you believe we've made a mistake, email gatetheapp@gmail.com and we'll review your case.
